Pearl

I can't believe my eyes! Yellow has stolen one of Cosmo's mares (Pearl) and by the looks of things he fought for her. He still has dried blood on his side along with numorous wounds. I just saw her with Cosmo a few days ago so this has happened recently.
You can't mistake this little round grey mare. She has half a right ear and a smudge mark on her left shoulder. She does not seem completely settled.
She tried to get too close to the band stallion, White Out who Yellow has a love/hate relationship with. I missed the shot, but you get the point?
Here is the baby in the band, Owl. She is a little mustang with attitude!
This is the coming two year old, Star. He was off on his own, I suspect he will be leaving his family soon.
See what I mean by attitude?
Star is turning the most amazing color. He was pure black, but now is getting silver tips. He is going to be a looker. I believe another grey stallion is his sire. His dam has only been with Yellow since this spring.
I'm telling you she was in a mood! Here the band stallion tells her off!
Yellow Man seems tired and rests his weary head on his lead mares rump. He is pretty beat up for sure. I wonder how Cosmo looks?
That's the lead mare. She is the blackest horse I have ever seen. It was hard to get a shot with her head up. She is a determined pawer.....bam, bam, bam, she breaks the crusty snow with her great big mustang hooves.
Yellow with his new mare. Will she stay? Stay tuned for more Sand Wash drama!

What a joy to find your blog! I popped over here from Beautiful Mustang and what a surprise. One of the pictures of Snow Man could be one of my horses. I have two Mustang/crosses that perpottedly came from "NW Colo, near Craig". They came from a domestic herd that resides there in the winter, co-mingling with the BLM herds. My mare just turned 10 yo and is a 'blue roan pinto' according to the brand inspector. When I got her (at 5 mos.), she looked like a black and white pinto; now she is almost completely white, as true grays do. You can only see her spots when she is wet. LOL.

My gelding is a blue roan 9 yo who is also almost pure white now. It is hard for strangers to tell them apart. The gelding has the same head shape as Snow Man, is over 15 hands with huge feet. My mare is stockier; I know her mom as we had her for a short time, also. Mom was a tall, very old, 'white', nicely built domestic mare. We now know mom was actually a gray and I am still surprised that my mare topped out about 14.2 hands, which makes her perfect for mounting. Both horses are strong, extremely agile, easy-to-get-along with and very smooth movers. I get lots of compliments on their looks and movements from knowledgeable horse people and trainers, especially about their feet - which have never seen shoes and rarely need trimming. We keep them on hard, rocky ground (like the Craig area) to help keep them strong. They are out 24/7 and love the wind!

Here is a picture of my gelding taken 2 days ago. Look at that head. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_XuHPTTMOa0Q/TSXrelyRuiI/AAAAAAAAAwM/WTEMq5T9-eY/s1600/roundup12011+005.jpg

Guess I better get to work, but this is so much fun. Thanks.
