Here is Streaker the little black colt with a big blaze, 4 white socks and a pinto marking on his side. His mom, Feather, is a sorrel pinto who is very fast. Watching them travel across the the Basin is a sight to see!
When I first spotted these guys they were way in the distance. It took a bit to realize it was Feather and Streaker with a very good looking Sand Wash stallion!
Feather is very flighty, she is difficult to get close to. I'm sure she has been through at least one round up which must be so traumatic for these wild guys. Why can't they think of a more humane way then using helicopters? Barbaric.
Here is the cute family together. They stick very close together for safety. Feather seems to make the decisions. She is a wise, wiley mare.
Family portrait. Streaker reminds me so much of my Sand Wash boy except for being black.
I really likes the looks of this guy, Feather got lucky, he really watches out for her and Streaker.
I will name him Buck.
I didn't stick around too long, they were very wary, especially Feather. What a gorgeous Sand Wash family.
