Lightning's new filly

It's a funny thing... as I'm driving out towards The Wash I am thinking about Lightning's band and how it's been such a long time since our last visit. Well, here they are plus one ! Look closely, second in from the left...
A brand new filly!

She is adorable and the mare is doing great!

Hey there!

Here is Miss filly with her mom, Lady, and band stallion, Lightning.

This is Haze, the young stallion in Lightning's band.

This is Haze with Sky, they have a very tight bond. It is beautiful to see!

That is Dot on the right, the solid bay in the group.

Blue Sky.

Flash, the sole yearling, is a stud colt. I love how he has Lightning's marking's, just in another color.

The little foal. Brand new!

The whole family looks out for her. This is an exceptional band, just really nice horses with great colors and conformations!

Hey, a new group! It is a small band, typical of Sand Wash. The band stallion is a bay with distinctive facial markings.

The stand out is this pinto, he is a young stallion.

The top stallion. Eagle.

This guy is amazing, really gorgeous. He was quite curious and frisky.

There is a lone yearling, a bay. To me I feel she is a filly, but can't confirm.

They are telling secrets out at The Wash, the mare is obviously pregnant, his mom? Just guessing.

Eagle let me check him and his small band out, then he decided to dash! I will never forget his stripe, how it makes a line across his cheek, mustang halter! The only other horse I've ever seen with this is the mare in Cherokee's band. I wonder if and when I'll ever see these horses again...I am grateful for this encounter.

This is one photo I have of a mystery band.... Stallion is the black.

Another mystery band...bay stallion on the left.

Hello Nancy!
Been following your blog and wanted to tell you how much we love your commentary and photographs!! Found you through TJ at Spring Creek. You folks are doing something very, very important in the fight to save these horses from a place/destiny they don't deserve. Please keep up the GREAT work!!

Thanks for looking you guys! These horses are too unique and beautiful not to share. I hope by doing this I am helping them in some way. I really love the mustangs and want them to have a voice or 2! I believe things are getting better for them. The have had round ups in 2001, 2005, and 2008, these are the remaining horses. I hope there is no round up in 2012, as planned. Maybe we could just pull out some adoptable horses?
