Viggo's Band

There is band stallion Viggo on the left. I had not seen them up close since last fall. Lots of pintos in this band. They are minus a pinto mare and a bay yearling I observed last time.
Here are some of his mares and yearlings. The black is without a baby. She seems to be the most wary. The worried auntie.

Look how beautiful! They can go from standing still to a full on gallop in lightning speed!

As I was observing, 2 people parked by my car and started walking towards us. I think they felt a bit threatened, the horses that is.

There are a few horses out at Sand Wash that look like the mare on the right. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they are medicine hats. They really show about against the stark desert landscape.

Love the gal in the middle with the extra set of eyes! How unusual! She is a filly I've named Charm.

I see wild horses do this a lot. They get a top a ridge and do a lookout. They are watching the 2 leggeds come towards us. Eventually they bolted. The noice of that is a sound you will never forget, the desert sounds hollow when the horses run. Makes your heat beat fast!

The medicine hat mare and her foal, Stomper.

There is Viggo with his lead mare. He is a stunning solid bay stallion. He is somewhat tolerant of people. All the different bands of horses have different "flight zones". This group is pretty mellow.
