I love this guy. It is Willie, this is the first time I have seen him up close.
This little roan yearling is with the big boys for some reason.
Buds.
The encounter did not last long and then they were off in true mustang fashion.

I never get tired of the colors of the Sand Wash horses. Thank you again for bringing them to us in living color! I've been working at the Farmer's Market on Thursdays and continue to recommend folks who want to see wild horses to take a trip to Sand Wash Basin . Most don't know we have wild horses in Colorado, let alone that they can go see them. I also recommend your blog to them. Keep up the great work. By the way, I have begun working on that brochure you talked about.
We saw Willie and the black stallion--got a few pics, but thanks to my wimpy camera and photography skills, the pics are a bit blurry. Anyway... in an attempt to identify the black stallion, I was looking on the SWB FB page and from the picture posted there, it looks like this stallion is Harlan:
