Butch and Sundance

Look who I saw today! The buckskin stallion, Bugs and his lovely band of wild Colorado mustangs.
The two palomino colts have really grown. They are hard to tell apart, such beautiful little babies!
The two yearling colts are still with the band. All four youngsters in this band are colts.
This is Skip, one of the yearlings. He is a real character and handsome to boot!
I can't believe how fast these little guys grow up. I was told they will become palominos. For now they are just white as white can be.
The only way I can tell them apart is Butch, the older of the two, is a tiny bit darker. He is the one behind. I also know his mom is the sorrel with the big blaze, Rita. Sundance is out front He was born about 3 weeks later then Butch. His mom is Hazel, who is also alpha in this harem of wild horses. She was beelining it to the water hole!
Here is Benson and his new domestic girlfriend. They were following Bugs on this day. I have informed the BLM about Demi, the sorrel pinto mare. Most likely someone dumped her. She most likely could not survive a winter on the range. These horses are not fed and totally fend for themselves. She is not equipped with the right kind of hooves to paw through the snow and ice.
Anyway here is Bugs checking on Benson, who is tailing him. Is he handsome or what?
So cute. Often times the wild horses run to the waterhole.
The horses stop at the waterhole and drink with gusto.
Here are the two yearling mustang brothers. They have a very tight bond with one another.
Bugs, the band stallion, having a roll in the mud. Afterwards he got in a scuffle with Benson and Benson came out dominent! He put Bugs down on the ground! But Bugs gathered his mares and colts and ambled off leaving Benson with his new mare.
