The little late filly, Heidi, is showing signs of greying out like her band stallion.
Cowgirl is looking fat and happy. She has neither a foal nor an yearling. She is an auntie in this band.
Heidi is lucky her dam is strong and fit to help her get through the winter that is fast approaching.
Here is Jess. Another dry mare, behind her are the Bears Ears.
The horses like to nibble on greasewood, the bright green plant that is prevalant on the range.
This band of horses is very tolerant of people. But do not push them....let them observe you.
These new age mustangs that trust people will be easier to manage....We just need to be respectful and horse savvy. This is the 2010 colt with Cosmo, Astro. He is a good 4 months older then his sister Heidi.
This is Gem, who just recently joined this band with her mom. She is a yearling. I am pretty sure she is Femur's daughter, just look at the similar shaped stripe. She is a real mommas girl.
The horses look good after the recent rains Sand Wash has recieved....
Heidi again....That's Vogue in the background....Gem's dam.
Cosmo is a very spanish looking mustang. He has one of the larger bands on the range.
Cosmo's 2010 filly and colt. Heidi and Astro...named by public club.
And off they go! I feel blessed to have seen this fine looking group of wild horses on this beautiful October day. All looked sound and healthy...blooming. Always a pleasure to spend some time with Cosmo and his girls plus Astro.

Astro looks great--he's certainly filled out since we saw that little newborn on that May morning! Thanks for the photos of Cosmo's band! They all look great. I bet Astro loves having another colt to romp with now.
