Cortez's Band

This is Buck's band. They are slowly getting used to me and I've been able to get a closer look.
This is the alpha white mare. She had a yearling by her side this spring, but he or she is gone. She now has a cute, healthy little colt. Like in so many bands, he is an only foal.
Buck is a handsome buckskin with a knot for a tail!
His other mare is the gorgeous pinto on the left. I learnrd today her yearling is a colt. This are very typey Sand Wash wild horses, with the big blazes and pinto splotches on their chestnut coats....beautiful!
Needs a name has started to grow his wooly winter coat. The winters are brutal on the range!
See the little splotches? Very Sand Washy.
Mustang bros.
The white mare is very wary of people....the little colt follows her example.

What wonderful pictures as usual. The one of the two standing together that look almost like twins is a special one.

Do you think that Buck is Chrome's daddy? They look so much alike!

Thanks for checking in! Sally, you are right Buck and Chrome have a similar look. The USHS might know.

Buck is AMAZING! I just can't get over how majestic those mustang stallions are!
