Centauro's New Foals
This takes my breath away! I see Centauro's band with two brand new foals and a couple of missing two year olds. Plus the grulla pinto mare, Sugar, never came back. She had left her filly, but she (Spice) is missing as well. What a shake up in Centauro's band!
Look how cute! The mares are very skittish. it is hard for me to get a good look, but I can tell both foals are strong and healthy! This mare we call Sophia. Her 2 year old son, Capitano, is no longer with the band.
The other little foal has a big white patch on his or her's right side. She is a pinto! His mom is the most wary and keeps leading everyone away just like a good wild mare should. Centauro gives me "the look". I do not over stay my visit.
Boing! Love this little guy!
This mare we call Reyna. She still has her gorgeous 2 year old filly with her. So these are the first babies I see this year. I hope there are not too many. It is such an uncertain world for mustangs right now. I did see some other pregnant mares...Rudi, Mingo, Hazel are all due soon. I hope we find a way to make these horses have a more certain future...For now it is hard not to celebrate the new life on the range.
Long may you run.
