There is also a stallion near by. I can tell it is Bojangles. Lots of times I know a horse by where I see him or her. They for sure have territorial pastures at different times of the year. Bojangles is part of a group I call the "ridge bachelors". You will usually find him on the east side of the HMA.
These horses are very shy with their new foal and I am lucky to be able to get a glimpse of them. I do not recognize the white stallion. I can't believe it, yet, another white. This is getting confusing!
Isn't the new foal cute? I could not tell if it was a colt or filly. I am pretty sure the two year old is Cortez's son. Hopefully the HSUS has that information and pass it along after the leave. They had a girl documenting the summer of 2009 when all these two year olds were born. There is no way one person could document this whole herd of wild horses. I know that for a fact!
Just another angle of this elusive Sand Wash family. The horses become a little more tolerant of people as the viewing season goes on, but now is foaling season and the mustangs are wary.
Here is the stallion I can not ID.
