Chikala and Ohitika

I spot the red roan, Tashunka, and his spooky band. There is another stallion tagging along with a mare and a yearling.
Here is the tag along stallion. He made it clear to keep my distance. I respected that. Sure made it hard to get close to Tashunka and his roany band....A friend has named him Ohitika, Lakota for Furious.
Ohitika
Ohitika has a pretty sorrel mare and a curious yearling. Can you see Tashunka's band behind them?
As they were moving off I managed to get a few photos. Here is the stallion and the new foal. We will call her or him Chikala, Lakota for Little One.
Chikala.

The colors in this band of wild horses is exquisite.
Tashunka....Long may you run!
Off they go!
The last three horses are Ohitika and his small family. It is interesting how these bands join up. I hate to say goodbye to these guys because it might be a long time or never before I see them again. They are not trusting of 2 leggeds. Some bands are just like that....Let em be.
