Note the strand of wire in front of the little filly. This is everywhere out at Sand Wash. It is baling wire. I try to pack some litter everytime I visit this magical place.
Mystic is a ghost pinto. She has a pinto pattern that barely shows through her bright white coat. The mares seem to be old friends. Is Sunshine pregnant?
Here is Dusty, one of the two yearling fillies in this band.
A friend of the Sand Wash Mustangs adopted Madeleine's brother (or half brother) after the 2008 round up. He has a happy home and his humans call him Nobody. He is really cute, a pinto. Read about him and his story at Pam's blog.
See the faint pinto coat pattern on Mystic?
Here are the two yearling fillies. They seem very interested in the new filly.
This is an all girl band.
She will grey out. I love her fluffy tail. She is very girly.
Off she goes! Madeleine is most likely going to have more 2 legged encounters then a lot of the horses. She lives near the entrance and Prince is fairly tolerant of people. I hope she convinces people that these wild horses are worth saving, just by her good looks alone.
